Plastering services in Hertfordshire

Plastering is the main part of what we do: applying plaster to walls and ceilings to create smooth, durable or decorative finishes, tailored to each home.

We cover everything from internal work like skimming, bonding and Artex removal through to external finishes. Whatever the surface, the job ends the same way — level, sound, and ready to decorate.

Skimming

Skimming applies a fine 3mm coat of plaster to rough or uneven surfaces, creating a smooth, level finish — ideal for old, patchy walls and ceilings that need a fresh start before painting or wallpapering.

Plaster typically needs 7–14 days to dry before decorating; where damp work has been involved it can take considerably longer to fully cure. We'll tell you what to expect on your job.

Dry lining & partitioning

Dry lining fixes plasterboard to walls or ceilings for a smooth, even surface — a faster, cleaner alternative to wet plastering that can also improve insulation and conceal pipes or cables.

Partitioning uses plasterboard to build internal walls or divide larger spaces: new rooms, offices or storage, without extensive structural change.

Ceiling plastering

Whether it's an old, uneven ceiling or new plaster after construction work, ceiling plastering creates a clean base for painting — and can be combined with decorative work such as coving or ceiling roses.

Repairs & patching

Cracks, dents and holes from wear, accidents or movement are repaired so they blend with the surrounding plaster — addressing underlying issues like moisture ingress rather than just covering them.

FAQs

Plastering questions

How long before I can paint over new plaster?

Typically plaster needs 7–14 days to dry before painting or wallpapering. If damp work has been involved it can take much longer to fully cure — we'll advise on your specific job.

Can you repair rather than re-skim?

Often, yes. Repairs and patching blend new plaster into the old and cost less than a full re-skim — we'll recommend whichever the wall actually needs.

Do you remove Artex?

Yes — Artex removal is one of the additional services we offer alongside skimming and coving.

Are you insured?

Yes, all of our work is fully insured.
